2nd Manila Ocean Park (MOP) Dragonboat Regatta 2010

The Organizing Committee of the Manila Ocean Park (MOP) in conjunction with the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) presented its 2nd Manila Ocean Park Dragonboat Regatta held at the Manila Ocean Park, at the back of Quirino Grandstand, on March 28, 2010.  This is in line of MOP’s vision to support and promote the dragon boat sport in the country.

MBC Summer Seasports Dragonboat Race 2010

The Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) together with the City of Manila and in cooperation of the Philippine Coast Guard successfully hosted its annual Summer Seasports Festival on March 20 to 21, 2010 featuring the dragon boat races (and bancathon) in Manila Bay.

Thirteen team members of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) raced intensely heat after heat to cup the championship for 300m Open, Women and Mix events.   The best of the best emerged, a sweet victory for the Champion teams having only a few seconds or milliseconds advantage over the runner ups.

Congratulations to this year’s champions – PDRT Fireblades for both the Open and Mix events and the PNP Patriots for the Women event.

1st Placer Dragon Boat Festival – Feb 19-20, 2010

Placer, Masbate Mayor Jay Seachon Lanete organized its First Placer Dragon Boat Festival on February 20, 2010 as part of its fiesta celebration.  In cooperation with and officiated by the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF),  Manila-based dragon boat teams’ Philippine Dragonboat Rowing Team (PDRT) Fireblades, Philippine National Police (PNP) Patriots, Philippine Youth Rowing Society (PYROS), and Triton Dragonboat Racing Team vied in the 250m and 400m Open, Mix and Women Events.  Meanwhile, Masbate dragon boat teams also raced in the 250m and 400m Locals events.  Masbate’s pride teams were Pasyagon, Placer Scruffles, Villa Arman, and V. Casas.

The Organizing Committee of the Manila Ocean Park in conjunction with the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) cordially invite Dragon Boat Teams to participate in the 2nd Manila Ocean Park Dragonboat Racing, which will be held on March 28, 2010 at the Manila Ocean Park, at the back of Quirino Grandstand, Manila.

COMPETITION REGULATIONS AND RACING RULES
The 2nd Manila Ocean Park Dragonboat Racing will be conducted under the PDBF Rules of Racing. All participating crews are required to email a completed Confirmation of Participation Form by no later than 4pm on 17th March 2010, Wednesday to: macristina.o@gmail.com

COMPETITION CLASSES AND DISTANCES
The Racing Classes that will be contested are listed below provided sufficient entries are received in each competition class. A minimum of 4 Entries from different Club Teams are required for the Open, Women and Mixed.

Open & Mixed (26 crews) – 20 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 steersman, 4 reserves

  1. When making crew changes,  please use the official PDBF CHANGE CREW form. Only 2 crew changes will be allowed.
  2. Please follow schedule of submission of confirmation, entry forms, registration payment and updated monthly dues
  3. No ID, no loading policy will be strictly implemented
  4. Coaches are not allowed to drum but are only allowed to steer
  5. Women’s drummer for the Women’s category.  For the Men’s and Mix Open, either man or woman.
  6. Must all wear the same team uniform.

Manila Ocean Park Dragonboat Regatta

The Manila Ocean Park is giving PDBF the opportunity to promote the sport of dragonboat this month of April. We will have the chance to display and showcase dragonboat at the Oceanarium.

Member teams are requested to submit 8″ x 11″ pictures which would be exhibited.  Each team is requested to submit 3 to 5 photos with the photographer’s name and his/her respective team name at the back.

1.  PDBF Id / Race Temp Id

- Please be reminded that we will be using the PDBF Id for Loading Control. We would still honor all PDBF Ids that expired from the 1st quarter (Jan-Mar).
- PDBF Race Temp Ids will be issued to those endorsed by their respective Team Leaders (deadline March 24). Free of charge.
- Change crew will be accepted ON Race Day for up to 3 participants only. A minimum fee of Php10/pax will be charged for the Race Temp Id.
- For lost PDBF IDs/request for Temp Race Ids ON Race Day, Php10/pax will be charged also.
- For Temp Race Cards issued/requested on Race Day, please advise your paddlers to bring an ID picture for the Temp Card.
- For Crew Changes, please make sure that you have an UPDATED Race Gallery.

Boracay International Dragonboat Festival

The 3rd Boracay International Dragon Boat Festival will be held on April 30, May 1 & 2, 2009 and will be bigger and even better than the previous years – a fun-filled event incorporating the dragon boat spirit of sportsmanship and great international camaraderie.  The Festival is supported by the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation, the Philippine Department of Tourism and the Municipality of Malay in an effort to bring tourism through sports.
